Vacancies

The Beyond Juba Project (BJP) offers interested Ugandans and international applicants working on themes related to conflict and transitional justice an opportunity to intern, volunteer or to associate with us as researchers. While applications for these positions are accepted throughout the year, the selection process only takes place once every quarter. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are only able to contact successful candidates at the end of the quarter.

Interns

While applications are considered on a rolling basis, it is advisable to apply early as only a small number of applicants may be taken on with the application process being highly competitive.

Although we would prefer interns intending to stay for a minimum of 6 months, the BJP hosts a summer internship program in which qualified applicants (usually postgraduate students or other exceptional skilled students), are accepted for a shorter periods of time. The deadline for this specific program is 15th March of every year, although preference will be given to those who can apply earlier.

For international applicants, please check out our Internship Contribution Schedule for further details concerning internships.

Please note that interns are NOT paid and applicants should expect to be fully self-sufficient.

The Beyond Juba Project accepts volunteers from Uganda and/or abroad for a period of six months, depending on performance and extension. Volunteer positions are open to individuals with experience and specific skills.
